Audio Bullys, Annie Mac and Calvin Harris @ The Eden Project

The morning after the night before, The AKG Promotions team were certainly bleary eyed after waking up at the Eden Project camp site at 7 o’clock in the morning and why you may ask were they awake so early? Well this is the one day we had been waiting for for literally months…..Audio Bullys, Annie Mac and Calvin Harris all at one venue….YES PLEASE!

Audio Bullys
I remember when the Audio Bullys released ‘Shot You Down’ from their second album Generation back in 2005, I’d always wondered what had happened to these London geezers, and now I know. Opening the set with ‘Drums (On with the Story)’ a melodic, relaxing song that soon turned into an electro lovers (Karl’s) dream…and on with the show! The next 40 or so minutes were amazing….I enjoyed the set so much as I soon as I got home I bought their newest album ‘Higher Than The Eiffel’.

Annie Mac
I’m not going to lie I was very excited about seeing Annie Mac, but the excitement on AKG Promotions sound recordest Taylor’s face all day was literally indescribable. The set kicked off with some nice summer electro beats from artists such as Yolanda Be Cool and then quickly turned to something truly magical. Annie dropped remixes by Jack Beats, A-Trak and Fake Blood….it just got dirtier and dirtier…..it was just a shame her set only lasted for an hour. I certainly could’ve enjoyed her mixing skills all night!

Calvin Harris
Last, but by no means least the crowd were treated to Calvin Harris. With a full band support Calvin was top form and had the crowd jumping and singing like I’ve never seen before. There had been talk of Dizzee Rascal making an appearance at the gig, alas he didn’t turn up. Calvin hit us with some of his biggest hits, Acceptable in the 80s, Ready for the Weekend, The Girls….it was an awesome set and a shame it had to end.

Being a part of the AKG Promotions team means certain VIP privileges. So after the gig had finished we headed up to the Gallery at The Eden Project to the VIP after party. It was a great chance to carry the electric vibe to carry on into the night and best of all, artists of the event came to party with us. We managed to get to meet Annie Mac and discuss who was her biggest fan, Radio Ones Nick Grimshaw or AKG Promotions Taylor Worthington…..we certainly know who the winner was, don’t we Taylor?!

The party didn’t finish for us after that, next we headed back up to the camp site and sat round a fire with a few beers with the Sessions organisers and talked about future events….and all we can say is the future is looking exciting and bright. Watch this space!
